Laying of Foundation stone of new Ekalavya Model Residential School at Manu by Prime Minister of India.
Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India as well as Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura giving priority towards providing quality education to tribal students living in the interior areas.
With this object, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India has decided to set up more than 400 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools by 2022 across the country and out of these, new Eklavya Model Residential Schools will also be set up in the state of Tripura.
As a part of this, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has laid foundation stone of new Eklavya Model residential schools across the country through virtual mode from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 15th November, 2021 on the auspicious occasion of the Janajatiya Gaurav Divas on the birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on 15th November, 2021 as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Out of the new Eklavya Model Residentia! Schools, foundation stone of one new Eklavya Model Residential School has been laid at Purba Machli under Manu R.D. Block, Dhalai District. Besides, Shri Sambhulal Chakma, Hon’ble MLA and Shri Sanjoy Das, Hon’ble MDC, TTAADC were also present at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
In addition to provide quality education to the tribal students in these schools, emphasis will also be given on various curriculam activities such as music, dance and sports etc for the overall development of the students.
