Locals blocked the Road in protest against the acute crisis of power and water

Members from all tribal families living in the Chelikhala area under Bishalgarh Subdivision of Sepahijala district blocked the Boxnagar-Bishalgarh road on Thursday due to absence of electricity and water supply.

According to reports, there is no power in the area of Aralia house of Chelikhla since last 25 days.

The issue disrupted the supply of drinking water and electricity in the area for which locals are facing various problems.

Agitating members said that the officials are not taking any initiative even after contacting them repeatedly.

They added that people of the area are facing huge problems since the last one month due to the issue.

To get a solution to their problems, locals blocked the Boxanagar-Bishalgarh road on Thursday morning.

Local women also claimed that they will not unblock the road until various problems including drinking water availability and electricity connections are resolved.

Due to the road blockade, local administration and police rushed to the spot and assured them of an immediate solution regarding power and water availability.
