The newly constituted 13th Tripura Assembly’s first session will start on March 24.
Officials on Saturday said that a vote on account for the first quarter of the next financial year (2023-24) will be passed as an interim arrangement in the session, until the full budget is passed.
The assembly secretary said that under the powers given to governor Satyadeo Narain Arya in Article 174 (1) of the Constitution, he has convened the maiden session of the newly elected MLAs at 11am.
During the session, the speaker and his deputy will be elected. The assembly session will also see the conduct of other legislative business.
Notably, TIPRA Motha with 13 MLAs will get the leader of the opposition status though Motha has not yet announced the name of its leader.
