Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will pay a two-day visit to poll-bound Tripura to address party meetings and election rallies on February 6.
Trinamool Congress’s Tripura state President Pijush Kanti Biswas said that Abhishek Banerjee, national General Secretary of Trinamool would address election rallies across the state.
He added that the central leaders are scrutinising the applications of the possible candidates and the candidate list would be announced as soon as possible.
Biswas, accompanied by state party in-charge Rajib Banerjee and Trinamool Rajyasabha MP Sushmita Dev at the press conference on Tuesday.
He added, “129 applications from various parts of Tripura submitted before the leadership who are willing to be the party candidates. Alliance with any other party not yet finalised”.
Biswas said that if Trinamool came to power after the assembly elections, it would provide sufficient relief to the 14 lakh people who had deposited money in various chit funds as well as return their money.
