Man gets 7 years RI in rape case

The Ld. District & Sessions Judge, Gomati District, Udaipur on 26.07.2023 has convicted and sentenced an accused person namely Doangya Mog (20) S/O Sri Chailafru Mog Khilu Mog Para, Ailmara under Silachari Police Station in connection with Case No. ST-11 of 2022, arising out of Silachari PS Case No. 11 of 2021, dated 25.9.2021, U/S 457/376/325/506 IPC to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 07 (seven) Years for commission of offence punishable U/S 376(1) of IPC, he is sentenced to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 03 (three) years for the commission of offence punishable U/S 457 of IPC, he is sentenced to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 03 (three) years for the commission of offence punishable U/S 325 of IPC & also sentenced to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 3(three) years for the commission of offence punishable U/S 506 of IPC.

In this case, on 24.9.2021 midnight the accused person criminally trespassed into the dwelling house of victim in absence of other family members when she was sleeping with her 07 month old baby.

He has proposed the victim for sexual intercourse with him but the victim denied him & then accused forcibly committed rape & physically assaulted & threatened her with dire consequences.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Investigating Officer SI Sanjib Sharma of Silachari Police Station (now posted at Melaghar PS) thoroughly investigated the case and submitted Charge Sheet which subsequently ended in conviction.
