Manik Saha To Take Oath As Tripura CM Today; PM Modi, Amit Shah To Attend Event In Agartala

Manik Saha will take oath as the chief minister of the state for the second time at the Vivekananda ground at 11 AM.

A swearing-in-ceremony of the new Chief Minister and the council of ministers will take place on March 8.

Tripura BJP Leader Manik Saha on Monday evening met Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya to stake claim to form government in the state.

He is set to continue as the chief minister of the northeastern state Tripura.

The Manik Saha-led council of ministers in Tripura will take oath of office and secrecy here on Wednesday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda have already arrived in Tripura to join the swearing in ceremony of the BJP-led government.

Bharatiya Janata Party and IPFT alliance retained majority in the 13th general election of Tripura Legislative Assembly. This alliance has won a total of 33 assembly constituencies. Among them, Bharatiya Janata Party won 32 assembly seats and IPFI came victorious in 1 assembly constituency.

In the 60-member Tripura Assembly. Tipra Motha Party won 13 assembly constituencies, CPIM won 11 assembly constituencies and Indian National Congress won 3 assembly constituencies.
