Medal winning athletes of 66 National School Games felicitated at Secretariat

Medal winning athletes of the state participating in the 66″ National School Games were felicitated at the Secretariat yesterday. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy felicitated the awardees in a press conference organized at the Press Conference Hall of the Secretariat.

The Sports Minister handed over gifts to them. At the press conference, the Sports Minister informed that 2022 Under-19 National School Games were held at three places in the country from June 6 to June 13 State school teams participated in 15 events in these National Games.

The team won I gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze Medals in Judo. The team also won 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Yoga. Moreover, in yoga, the team won the second runner-up title. The Sports Minister expressed hope that the state team will do better in future in other categories

At the press conference, the Sports Minister also informed that International Yoga Day will be observed on June 21. On that day, the State-level main programme will be organized at International Fair Grounds in Hapania at 7:15 am under the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
