Media notices my t-shirt, but doesn’t ask about torn clothes of poor farmers, labourers: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said the media noticed his t-shirt, but didn’t ask about the torn clothes of poor farmers and labourers who were walking alongside.

“I walk in (Bharat Jodo) yatra wearing T-shirts. Many children of poor farmers and labourers walk with me in the yatra wearing torn clothes. But media doesn’t ask why children of poor farmers and labourers are walking without a sweater or jacket during the winter season,” he said.

Taking potshots at the media, he said, “I call them ‘mitra’ (friend) but they are not performing the duty of a friend as they do not raise the real issues out of fear of their bosses.”

He said the focus of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is to remove ‘dar’ (fear) from the people’s minds and raise the issue of price rise and unemployment.
