Mega Health Camp organised in Santir bazar.

The District Health & Family Welfare Society and Maluripar Primary Health Centre in collaboration with Balak Sangha Club, Santirbazar on December 5 organized a “Mega Health Camp in the premises of Durga Mandir at North Muhuripur under Santibazar Sub Division for people living in villages who have limted access to healthcare facilities.

The Mega Health Camp was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of South Tripura District Dr. Jagadish Numa. The Chief Medical Officer along with the doctors and support of paramedies treated needy patients.

They also conducted seminar and awareness campaign on “No Scalpel Vasectomy” (NSV) in male sterilization Dr. Namain in the programme, assured that more such health camps in the surrounding areas would be conducted in the coming days. He emphasized the need for creating awareness among the villagers about the importance of family planning, use of contraceptives and reproductive health.

Medicines were also distributed free of cost to the patients and villagers in the camp. The doctors and health staff’s conducted health check-up on children, women, senior citizens and blood test and referred to the nearby PHCs those who needed medical attention. Diabetes Specialist Dr. Santanu Das, Child Specialist Dr. Prasenjis Das, Eye Specialist Dr. Umakanta Acharya, and ENT Specialist Dr. Bidyut Chakraborty, were also present along with other local dignitaries on the occasion.
