Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat on Thursday, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the state government gave more than 24,000 jobs since 2018.
He said that according to the Finance department’s data total 41,949 jobs are in concurrence till December 16, 2022.
Minister Chowdhury added that the state government has already provided 24,033 jobs and other jobs are in the pipeline.
He further said that these jobs include 8103 contractual jobs, 17,686 Regular/ Fixed Pay jobs, 5879 outsourcing jobs and 1329 die-in-harness jobs.
Speaking to the media, the ICA minister mentioned that the recruitment process of 5000 JRBT aspirants, 6000 Special Executives, 1000 Police Constables in Home department and 3000 TET teachers is underway.
He also said that during the last five years of the Left government from 2013 to 2017, only 13,657 jobs were given.
Chowdhury lashed out the opposition for their allegations on the present government regarding government jobs. He also highlighted break-up of department-wise jobs.
