If the panchayat is strong then the country will be strong. The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already taken various initiatives to strengthen the panchayat system.
The present government of the state has also joined that initiative. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said this while addressing as the chief guest at a special Gram Sabha of North Champamura Gram Panchayat in Old Agartala Block on the occasion of National Panchayat Raj Day.
Addressing the meeting held at the hall of the old Agartala block office, the Union Minister said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi also attached special importance to the development of the village.
He said, if you want to see India, you have to go to the village. The present central government is working towards that goal.
The present Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi has shown how to develop the gram panchayat with the help of people from all walks of life.
In her tweet Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said “Celebrated the National Panchayati Raj Day at Old Agartala RD Block today by addressing the Panchayati Raj Institutions members about efforts of Govt. Of India in strengthening Panchayats under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji.It was inspiring to listen to the address delivered by Hon’ble PM from J&K appreciating the Panchayats as the pillar of Indian Democracy”.
