NLFT (BM) COMMANDER SURRENDER BEFORE BSF
BSF Tripura is making persistent Counter Insurgency endeavors independently as well as with active support of State Security Apparatus & Central Government Agencies against the ‘Indian Insurgent Groups’ active in the State. Resultantly, the active Cadres of such insurgent groups, particularly of “NLFT (BM) Outfit” are becoming disillusioned from the insurgency activities and showing their intend to join the mainstream.
Earlier on 18th Oct 2021, one such listed and active NLFT (BM) Cadre namely Jaiba Kaloi @ Litan Jamatia @ Chalai surrendered before BSF.
Now, following the path of peace & harmony one more senior active & listed NLFT (BM) Comdr namely Rana Bahadur Debbarma @ Roaja @ Hemchang (51 yrs) S/o Krishna Charan Debbarma R/o Bhaktomanipara (Lakshmichera), Police Station- Champaihowar, District- Khowai (Tripura), who claims to be holding the rank of Self-Styled Captain in NLFT (BM) Outfit has also surrendered today before BSF in presence of Shri Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General Tripura, Senior Officers BSF & other Agencies including Media personnel.
Rana Bahadur @ Roaja reportedly joined the NLFT (BM) Outfit in the year 1995 and has been continuing to be its active member since then. As on date, he has been listed as an active cadre of NLFT (BM) as per the list published by State Govt.
It is pertinent to mention here that NLFT (BM) Commander Rana Bahadur had not seen any of his family members including his parents since his joining the NLFT Outfit in 1995.
Even, he did not come during the last rituals of his parents, when he lost his mother in the Year 2006 and his father in the Year 2012, which was an excruciating tough period for him & his family. However, today, Rana Bahadur has opted for his “GHAR WAPSI” and got an opportunity to meet his younger brother and elder sister, after more than 25 years. His renunciation of violent insurgent activities and joining mainstream to live a happy & peaceful life will definitely encourage other Insurgents to follow his path.
In the recent years, large numbers of NLFT (BM) Cadres have surrendered before BSF and other SFs, which indicate their eagerness to renounce violence and join the main stream. It may be noticed that total of 25 Insurgents of NLFT have surrendered before BSF Tripura, till date i.e. 05 Insurgents in Year 2017, 12 Insurgents in Year 2018, 03 Insurgents in the Year 2019, 03 Insurgents in 2020 & 02 Insurgents in 2021 (including Jaiba Kolai on 18th Oct 2021 & Rana Bahadur Debbarma, today i.e. on 09th Nov 2021).
BSF Tripura Frontier appeal to the youth of the State, who are being allured by the false promises to join the Insurgency even today, that they should not be misguided to follow the path of violence & extreme hardships and to join the mainstream.
