One of the important factors for overall development is women empowerment in reality. Women must stay aware about all kinds of central and state govemment facilities, enunciated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating Milan Mela 2022 in Fatikooy Higher Secondary School ground.

The Mela will be organized for four days. In the beginning of the event, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the images of famous artistes who have had deceased recently. Then the Chief Minister along with the other guests unveiled a souvenir book at the event

The Chief Minister said, overall development of any region is impossible without women becoming financially strong.

Based on this thought process, the state government is working on priority basis to empower woman and generate income opportunities for them. As a result, they become financially independent on one hand and on the other hand, their participation in social activities is also increasing. The initiative of 33% reservation for women will play a significant role in accelerating the step towards ensuring their respectful position in work field.

Plans are there to set up two special 50-bedded hospitals for treatment of heart diseases. Initiatives have been taken to provide loans as financial assistances for women to help them create income opportunities.

About almost 3 lakh women members of Self Help Groups have found their path to become self dependent. Plans are there to set up Rehabilitation Centres in two districts of the state West Tripun and North Tripura.
