The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has allocated an additional 130,695 additional housing units for the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced this news in a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
The tourism minister further said, “Tripura has already been allotted 2 lakh 1 thousand houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme. Most of the housing construction work has been completed. The construction of the remaining residences will also be completed very quickly.”
He added that the state got the allocation of 87,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban project among which 53,000 houses have been constructed.
The tourism minister hoped that the socio-economic status of the state will improve due to the allocation of additional housing for the state.
He added that thus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of sustainable housing for all will be realized. At the press conference, the Tourism Minister thanked the Union Rural Development Minister for allocating additional housing for the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme.
