Petrol, Diesel Price Cut Too Little, Too Late: CPI

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued today (on November 5, 2021) the following statement terming the cut in prices of petrol and diesel as too little and too late:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly feels that the cut in central excise duty of Rs. 5 per litre of petrol and Rs. 10 per litre of diesel announced by the Central government is in fact too little and too late.

The Party feels this action of Modi government must be in response to the debacle the BJP had in the recent bye-elections to Lok Sabha and Assemblies.

The Party reiterates its demand that the central government should do away with all central taxes which alone will give meaningful relief to the consumers. as well as help in curbing the spiralling prices of all essential commodities.
