Tripura’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kiran Gitte held an all-party meeting on Sunday at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office where post-poll law and order situation and other issues were discussed.
The CEO said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) delivered free, transparent, peaceful and fair Assembly Election in Tripura as per promise.
In the meeting, he thanked all the political parties for their cooperation in conducting such an election.
Gitte further requested all the political parties to show patience and appeal to their supporters to be tolerant and not to take law in their hands.
He said family conflicts and personal animosity shall not be projected as a political incident as it sends wrong messages and could deteriorate law and order situation.
CEO added that if any violent incident happens, then they should approach the concerned police authority and the Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
Gitte further said that ECI is monitoring the law and order in Tripura daily. The CEO warned that no post-poll violence would be tolerated and mentioned that CAPF and Police authorities will take strict action against offenders.
