Pradyut Kishore moves SC for NRC

As demand for implementation of NRC in Tripura continues to intensify with state indigenous parties like INPT as well as the ruling ally IPFT threatening to launch an intensive movement if an Assam-like National Register of Citizens is not implemented in the border state, Tripura Royal scion Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma move a petition in the Supreme Court to demand NRC in the state.

Congress Vice President of Tripura Pradyot Kishore Debbarman moved the Supreme Court for implementation of National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) in the state.

However Pradyot Kishore Debbarman claimed that he moved the Apex Court not as a Congress man but as a citizen.

The writ petition filed by Debbarman seeking initiating NRC  similar to that of Assam in the state was admitted on Monday.

Debbarman, who is currently in Delhi told the local media, said he has no intention to deport anybody from the state but there must be increase in the number of Assembly seats.
