Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy has called upon all the clubs, social organizations, market committees and all the entrepreneurs of the state to participate in the Neshamukt (Drug-free) Tripura structure campaign in the coming Durgotsava days.
On Friday, the sports minister while talking to reporters in his office in the secretariat said, “The state government is working with the aim to build drug free Tripura by following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal to detoxify India.
For this, the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports is organizing a state-wide campaign aimed at creating a drug-free Tripura.”
Sports Minister Mr. Roy urged the organizers of Durga Puja to take up various plans to promote the Durga Puja theme through various awareness exhibitions such as display boards, posters, flexes with the aim of building a healthy youth society free from drugs.
He added, “Youth society is being destroyed by the addiction.
Our state Tripura is no exception. To free the youth from the grip of addiction, to build a healthy and prosperous society, the Tripura government has adopted an action plan called Khelo Tripura, Healthy Tripura.”
Minister Roy further said, “In order to implement this project, the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports will implement a state-wide anti-drug campaign during the upcoming Durga Puja.”
He urged all the Durga Puja organizing clubs in every district, sub-division and block area of the state to conduct mass campaign to prevent the public from intoxication.
The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports will review all these programs and reward puja entrepreneurs in districts and sub-divisions.
