Pushpabanta Palace to be developed as Museum of intl standard: Sushanta

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury visited and inspected the Pushpabanta Palace adjacent to Circuit House on Wednesday.

When Minister Chowdhury reached the palace premises in the afternoon, he was welcomed by the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited.

The state government has taken the initiative to develop the Pushpabanta Palace as an international standard museum.

The Tourism Minister toured the Palace and the Durbar Hall. He spoke to Tapan Kumar Das, Managing Director, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited, Abhijit Nandy, Project Manager, KNOSP-E, New Delhi and COLLP Company.

Chowdhury checked the working drawings and designs and advised officials to maintain quality in rectfitting work.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the state government has taken the initiative to develop Pushpabanta Palace as an international standard museum to highlight the lost culture and the culture of the Rajanya era (era of kings) before the future generations.

He said that universal poet Rabindranath Tagore visited the palace. There will be a separate gallery of Rabindranath Tagore along with other galleries, library, film and video gallery, administrative building, etc”.
He said that if an international quality museum is built here, the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists as well as the amount of revenue collection will increase.
