Rabindranath Tagore is the soul of Indian culture. Rabindranath Tagore is associated with Indian society, consciousness, culture and patriotism. Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha said this at Prabhati Kabi Pranaam programme organized at Rabindra Kanan last morning on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore birth anniversary. Rabindra dance, music, recitals were performed by child artistes on the occasion.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said, to find the way out of any situation in life can be found from Rabindranath Tagore’s songs, plays, novels, short stories, essays and poems. His song has been recognized as the national anthem of India and Bangladesh.
He said, Rabindranath Tagore’s creation is literally evergreen. Kabi Guru’s creations will forever be cherished by people. Talking about Kabi Guru’s relationship with Tripura, the Chief Minister said that the state had a deep relationship with Rabindranath Tagore since the time of Maharaja Bir Chandra Manikya which lasted till Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. In the backdrop of Bhubaneswari temple, the royal family’s grandeur was highlighted by the poet’s Rajarshi, Bisarjan and Mukut.
Chief Minister reminiscing about Rabindra Jayanti celebration during his student life, also recited a poem by Rabindranath Tagore translated into English.
Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department P.K Chakraborty delivered the welcome address on the occasion. In-charge Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Haridulal Acharya, Chief Secretary J.K Sinha, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Ratan Biswas and others were also present on the occasion.
At the beginning of the programme, the guests paid their respect by offering floral tributes to the statue of Rabindranath Tagore.
