Remuneration of Bank Sakhis hiked under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission

Under Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), Deendayal Antyodaya Yoğana-National Rural Livelihood Mission, remuneration of Bank Sakhis has been increased.

The Bank Sakhis at present are earning 4 to 4.5 thousand rupees per month in average. According to the state government’s decision, monthly. income of Bank Sakhis has been increased to encourage them towards their work. Apart from this, some more tasks were added to their work.

According to the revised rate, Bank Sakhis may be able to eam 6 to 7 thousand per month in average. For this, around 3.15 crore rupees more will be invested yearly by the state government to the TRLM.

The Bank Sakhis are members of one or the other SHGs. They coordinate with different branches of Gramin Bank and SHGs. Apart from this, on everyday basis they help open bank accounts, distribute loan sanction papers, different kinds of insurance application forms and help generating financial awareness among the women of SHGs.

There are at present 305 Bank Sakhis employed in Tripura’s different branches of Gramin Banks. They get their payment from TRLM.
