Section 144 imposed ahead of poll in Tripura

In the view of Tripura Assembly Elections just, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Kumar Gitte announced that CrPC Section 144 will be imposed across the state to maintain peace in the state.

He added that all borders are sealed including Assam and Meghalaya border to maintain strict security and monitoring across the state to ensure a free and fair election.

Gitte added that drugs, narcotics, freebies, cash and gold are seized in more than 250 naka points till date, which cost around 44 crores.

He said that the goal of administration is to conduct a fair election. Gitte further stated that all political parties and candidates are coordinating with the Election Commission.

He claimed that the upcoming assembly election is likely to create new records, as it will be conducted in a very peaceful environment.
