BSF troops deployed on the border, on specific intelligence input seized 20 kgs of Agar wood worth Rs. 2,00,000/- along with a Tata Magic Van bearing Regt No.TR-02-1928 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Malakarbasti of 166 Bn BSF under PS – Dharmanagar on intervening night of 28-29 April 2019.
The seized item along with the vehicle handed over to Forest Office, Dharmanagar.
In an another case of seizure, on 29th April 2019, BSF troops of Sabroom Border Out Post of 66 Bn BSF seized 291 Nos of Sarees worth Rs. 2,59,200/- from unfenced gap of the BOP. The seized Sarees handed over to Customs Office Sabroom.
Further, on the same day in three different cases, BSF troops also seized 14 Nos of Cattle worth Rs. 1,06,900/- from the bordering areas.
BSF is always vigilant on the International border and taking preventive measures to check all types of Trans-border crime. Seizure of contraband goods and narcotics items on daily basis is the examples of such commitment by BSF troops on the border.
