Shishu Bihar Alumni helps children of Aurobindo Ashram, Aralia

Agartala : Shishu Bihar Alumni Association once again established itself as the pioneer of Philanthropic activities as on the first day of Bengali New Year the members of the Alumni extended their support to the inmates of Aurobindo Ashram at Aralia by distributing Educational items, Sports Goods , food items and clothes today.

Shishu Bihar Alumni Association started the New Year by spending the morning with the children of Aurobindo Ashram situated in the outskirts of Agartala .The Ashram is being looked over by a retired state govt. Employee Kalyan Dasgupta and even with out getting any focus , the person is using all his own resources to nurture the children.

Shishu Bihar Alumni Association gave exercise copies, drawing books , crayons,calculator, pens ,pencils ,geometry box , to support their Education.”In order to ensure all round development of the inmates cricket bats ,balls ,Chess, Chinese chequers ,footballs and ludus have been given two set each” said Vice President of the Association Tanaji Sengupta.Food items such as rice , dal, Mustard oil, cakes, Snacks and fruit juices are given for two months.All the children were given dresses by the Association.

“It is a wonderful experience to spend the day with the children and sharing breakfast with them “said Abhijit Sarkar Vice President of Shishu Bihar Alumni Association.
It is to be mentioned here that Shishu Bihar Alumni Association brought all Alumnis under one umbrella and organised an Inter Alumni Sports Meet last month which collected praise from all section of the Society.

Secretary of Shishu Bihar Alumni Association Abhijit Samajpati said that their Association will carry out philanthropic activities throughout the year like blood donation camp, standing besides specially prievieleged children ,distribution of clothes in slum areas, debates and cultural evening.He added that the legacy of Shishu Bihar HS School will be carried forward by Alumnites through various social activities.

The participation of females was note worthy in today’s programme.It is pertinent to mention here that during the 2nd phase of Covid Shishu Bihar Alumni extended support to about 2000 families by organising 12 relief camps throughout the State.
