SI arrested : Connection of narcotics racket

One police officer was arrested in connection of vast racket of narcotics smugglings  from his resident in Agartala on Saturday for his direct involvement in smuggling network.

Bimal Debbarma, the sub-inspector was picked up by senior police officers. Debbarma was in charge of Bagma out posts but of late he had earlier been closed to Police Reserve from where he was arrested.

Based on the confessional statement of arrested smuggling kingpin Shyam Manik, the South Tripura district police on Saturday arrested the OC of Bagma police outpost, Sub-Inspector (SI) Bimal Debbarma from his resident in Pragati Road area of Agartala for his direct involvement in smuggling racket.

So far police have arrested or suspended 10 to 12 police personnel including senior officers for their direct involvement in with money spinning Phensedyl and Cannabis (Ganja) trade.
