With the joint efforts of forest department and Vivekananda Vichar Mancha, a friendly cricket match was organised between Sepahijala Forest Headquarter and District Forest Staffs at Nature Leaming Centre campus in Sepahijala yesterday. Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Sushanta Choudhury inaugurated the match.
After inaugurating the match, the Minister said, Sports plays a significant role in physical and mental development. It also strengthens brotherhood and national integration among people.
He informed that the central government has granted permission to install four synthetic football turf in the state. Apart from that, proposal has been sent to the central government to set up sports complex in every district of the state.
Through these sports complex, it will be possible to bring the new talents to state-level and national level. The state government is working to build Drug-free Tripura by prioritising sports as the Chief Minister have announced already. YAS Minister hoped that more youth participate in other sports besides cricket which will create a beautiful environment in sports sector. Sepahijala District Forest Officer Animesh Das and Sepahijala District Magistrate & Collector Vishwashree B. delivered their speech in the programme.
Others present in the programme were Chairman of Tripura Khadi & Village Industries Rajib Bhattacharjee, Vivekananda Vichar Mancha State Committee Member Gautam Majumdar, socialist Bipul Dey and officials of the forest department. Sepahijala District Forest Office won with super over. YAS Minister handed over trophy to the winners.
