The state government is working on a zero tolerance policy to make Tripura drug free so that the next generation can be freed from the grip of addiction and build a healthy and strong society. In addition to the government initiatives, the Chief Minister called upon the people to come forward equally.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this after inaugurating an awareness rally under the ‘Khelo Tripura, Sustho Tripura’ program at Umakanta Academy ground, which was organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports on Friday.
After flagging off the rally, the Chief Minister said, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly emphasized in the meeting of the North Eastern Council that the entire North Eastern states should be made a drug free zone.
In this programme, the state government is working towards building drug-free Tripura by organizing such programs in various schools, colleges as well as in every corner of Tripura.
On the occasion, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that to build drug-free Tripura, ‘Khelo Tripura and Sustho Tripura’ program has been organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports for the past 1 month against drug addiction in various blocks and Nagar Panchayat areas of the state.
