Sudip Roy Barman, Asish Saha Join Congress

Ahead of the 2023 Tripura assembly polls, former minister Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha joined Congress on Tuesday after meeting Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in New Delhi.

Barman and Saha resigned from BJP and their MLA posts in Tripura Assembly on Monday.

Barman had been keeping in touch with the Congress high command for the last four months and finally he decided to join the party. 

He joined the BJP in 2017, leaving Trinamool Congress.

He was a Congress MLA in 2013 Assembly Elections, then joined Trinamool Congress and after then he joined BJP in 2017.
