Three gets life term for murder in Tripura

The Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Khowai, on 11/09/2023 has convicted and sentenced 03 accused persons namely (1) Selen Debbarma @Selem S/o Sri Samprai Debbarma 2) Alakesh Debbarma S/o Sri Selen Debbarma and Bidhu Debbarma @ Bidyut S/o Lt. Suresh Debbarma of Ramhari Para under Champahour Police Station in connection with Case No. (T-1)05/2018 U/S 341/302/325/34 IPC, arising out of Champahour PS Case No. 04/2017, dated 15/02/2017, U/S 341/302/325/34 IPC to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for Life for the commission of offence punishable U/S 302 IPC.

In this case, on 14/02/2017 the accused person murdered Samir Debbarma, S/O Sri Pranjit Debbarma of Ramhari Para under Champahaour PS, while he was returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in the same village.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Investigating Officer SI Prabir Debbarma of Chamnpahour Police Station (now retired) thoroughly investigated the case and submitted charge sheet which subsequently ended in conviction.
