Tipra Motha announces fresh agitation for ‘Greater Tipraland’; Without constitutional solution, will not sit with the Centre, says Pradyot Debbarma

On Tuesday, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma announced the party’s plan to launch a movement for the establishment of ‘Greater Tipraland’ starting from July 8 at Madhab Bari.

During a Facebook Live session, Pradyot revealed that TIPRA Motha leaders had recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and presented their demand for Greater Tipraland.

He emphasized that the party would not repeat the mistakes of IPFT in 2018, which ignored the core demands and issues of the tribal community.

Pradyot stated that joining the government without fulfilling their demands would not guarantee the fulfillment of those demands in the future.

During the meeting with the Home Minister, Pradyot clearly conveyed that the constitutional solution for Greater Tipraland must be fulfilled, or TIPRA Motha would not participate in the government.

The initial phase of the movement would focus on demanding Greater Tipraland.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the party would undergo a restructuring process during the plenary session on July 15-16. This restructuring would prioritize individuals who have actively worked for the community rather than those seeking positions of power.
