All parties are gearing up with their strategies for the Tripura Assembly elections, which would be conducted on February 16.
The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) held its strategy meeting on Friday in Kolkata
TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee chaired the meeting with Tripura TMC President Pijush Kanti Biswas, State In-charge Rajib Banerjee and MP Sushmita Dev.
While speaking with the media, Sushmita Dev said that the TMC will contest alone in the assembly elections. She added that last time BJP got all non-Left votes in Tripura.
As the Left Front and Congress have made an alliance, TMC is the only alternative for defeating BJP.
TMC’s Tripura in-charge Rajib Banerjee said that the party has 120 applications for 60 seats, which has been briefed to the party high command and decisions will be finalised soon.
Abhishek Banerjee is likely to visit Tripura in the last week of January, while TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee will come for in the final lap of campaigning.
