Tripura gears up to host Commonwealth Parliamentary Association NE Zone Conference

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association North East Zone Conference is being held in Tripura after many years.

This conference will be organized from Sunday to June 6 at the initiative of Tripura Legislative Assembly.

Bishwabandhu Sen, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, said this in a press conference at the Assembly building today.

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly said that except for Manipur, the principals and vice-principals and officers of all other states of the North Eastern region will be present in this conference.

He added that the Tripura Government organized a cultural program and dinner in honour of guests from various states on Sunday.

The Speaker further said, “Tomorrow (Monday) morning, on the occasion of the conference, the delegates coming will be shown various places of interest in the state.

The meeting of the Working Committee will be held at 12:30 noon in which the decision regarding the next meeting will be taken.”

Sen also said that the conference will discuss the issues like terrorism and improvements in communication, infrastructure, etc. due to the adoption of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East policy.
