Tripura: 700 kilos of dry ganja seized, 1 held

Khowai District Police has achieved a major achievement against drug trafficking on Tuesday.

At about 02.00 PM on Tuesday during vehicle checking on Khowai – Agartala road at Baijalbari, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Khowai, Officer-In-Charge Khowai Police Station & Officer-In-Charge of Baijalbari Police Out Post along with other officers & staff detained one truck (Six Wheeler) bearing Registration No.AS11-CC-6715.

During search, Police party has recovered total 700 Kg of dry Ganja from the vehicle & accordingly, seized the same along with the offending truck.

The driver of the said vehicle namely, Azadur Rahman (31) S/o Khalil Uddin, residence of Pekoacherra under Panisagar Police Station, North Tripura District has been arrested.

In this regard, a specific case is being registered for further investigation..
