Tripura BJP meets Chief Electoral Officer; demands to find culprits who put ink on posters of PM Modi

Tripura Pradesh BJP requested the Election Commission to take action against election officials who defaced the photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in hoardings and banners placed in various public places in the state.

Law Minister and senior BJP leader Ratanlal Nath said that it was observed some poll officials smeared black ink on Prime Minister’s photographs in some areas instead of removing his photographs from public places.

He added that the election officials could have removed the PM’s photographs from public places instead of smearing ink on those.

While talking to the media, Nath said that it is a shameful act by a section of election officials.
He added that BJP wants a proper investigation on the incident by the Election Commission and appropriate steps against those involved in such activities.

After giving a representation to the CEO, the senior BJP leader said, “we took up the issue with Chief Electoral Officer and requested him to take action against the officials involved in such acts”.

He added that the CEO will hold a meeting with returning officers to look into the matter based on the representation given by the BJP.
