In adherence to the ‘one man, one post’ principle of the party, Kishore Barman, the BJP general secretary for Tripura and also an MLA from Nalchar, tendered his resignation from the party position.
Prior to this role, Barman had been actively involved in organizational work in West Bengal and assumed the position of party general secretary for state of Tripura in July 2021.
He conveyed in a letter to BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, “I have been working as the general secretary for the past two years to strengthen the organisation. In the February Assembly election, I contested from Nalchar constituency and won. The victory was possible because of the party’s support and blessings of the people.”
Barman said, “As the party adheres to the principle of ‘one man, one post,’ I believe it would not be appropriate for me to hold two positions simultaneously. Therefore, as a party’s soldier, I have decided to step down from my role as the general secretary.”
He added, “I feel it is the right moment to quit the party post and focus on the people’s welfare who have elected me.”
