Tripura BJP seeks Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s resignation.
Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday staged a massive protest across the state over Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s controversial comment against President Droupadi Murmu.
Hundreds of BJP workers led by former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb joined the protest rally in the city. After traversing through the city, they burnt effigies of the Congress leaders including Chowdhury.
Chowdhury, who allegedly referred to President Droupadi Murmu as ‘Rashtrapatni’, has reportedly apologized for his statement describing it as a “slip of the tongue”.
However, the ruling BJP had protested against Chowdhury and sought his resignation.
