On Monday, Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha , BJP Leader Sambit Patra and the state president of BJP, Rajib Bhattacharjee held a meeting with prominent party members to discuss the strategy for the upcoming by-elections in the state.
Senior BJP leader and the party coordinator for the northeastern states Sambit Patra chaired a crucial meeting of the party’s election committee at the party state headquarters.
The by-elections for the Dhanpur and Boxanagar constituencies within the Sepahijala district are scheduled for September 5th.
Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired a session with key party figures including state party president Rajib Bhattacharjee, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma, and Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
The meeting centered around strategizing for the by-elections in the two Assembly seats.
The Minister of Food & Civil Supplies, Sushanta Chowdhury, communicated with the media after the meeting and said that this preliminary meeting led to the decision that the party would contest in both Assembly seats in the northeastern state.
Chowdhury mentioned that the party’s campaign for the by-election will kick off on August 15.
He added, “The selection of party candidates has not yet been concluded. It will adhere to the party’s established process. Indeed, the candidates will be disclosed from Delhi.”
