Tripura: BSF personnel found dead in Agartala

The body of a 40-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was discovered earlier this morning on November 17 near the Lankamura Iron bridge in Agartala.

On Thursday night, he took a bicycle with three to four young men from Akhaura for border patrol in Lankamura area. In the morning, his body was recovered under the culvert on the Lankamura iron bridge.

The deceased BSF personnel has been identified as Ishan Chandra Dora.

He belonged to the 42nd battalion of the BSF stationed at Lankamura Border Outpost (BOP) in Tripura.

Initially, the police sources came out on the patrol and after 1:30 pm, colleagues could no longer see him. After a lot of searching his body was recovered under a culvert.

There are no signs of bullet injuries on his body.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
