The Tripura government has decided to provide 5% Dearness Allowance for the employees and retired employees of the state government.
The Tripura council of ministers on Tuesday gave approval for recruitment of 200 Junior Engineers under PWD, ICA minister and cabinet spokesman Sushanta Chowdhury said while addressing Media.
This decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting on August 02, 2022.
Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced it in a press conference.
The annual expenditure of the state government will be around 523 crore 80 lakh rupees for paying this 5 percent allowance.
According to Sushanta Chowdhury, fixed salary employees will also get this benefit.
He opined that a large number of government employees and retired employees will benefit from this decision.
The Minister also said that appoint 200 junior engineers will be appointed in the works department. 100 Grade-8 (7) Engineers and 100 Grade-/(4) Jr. Engineers will be appointed. The recruitment process will be completed through TPSC.
The 200 Junior Engineers 100 Degree level and 100 diploma level will soon be recruited under the PWD in Grade-5(A) and in Grade-5(B) of Tripura Engineers Service (TES) through Tripura public Service Commission.
Tripura cabinet on Tuesday also approved recruitment of 100 Staff Nurses under the Health and Family Welfare department.
22 posts of Pharmacists (Homeopathy), 25 posts of Pharmacists (Ayurvedic) and 39 posts of Laboratory Technicians (Blood) would be filled up under the Health and Family Welfare department, he also added.
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman also highlighted the decision in his social media.
Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar also praised the cabinet led by Dr Manik Saha for the decision and congratulated them for taking such a decision.
He wrote that he welcomes the decision of GoT, led by CM Dr. Manik Saha for increasing 5% DA for employees and pensioners of the state government.
Approximately extra ₹523 crore will be spent for this requirement.
He wished best to all the employees and called to work earnestly together for the welfare and development of Tripura.
