Tripura celebrates S D Burman’s 116th birth anniversary

The 116th birth anniversary of musical legend Late Sachin Devvarman was celebrated on Friday.

Observance of Birth anniversary of musical legend Late Sachin Debbarman by ICA Department Tripura at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala.

Legendary late musician Sachin Dev Burman, famous with the name SD Burman, made timeless music. Born on October 1 in 1906, he was one of the most versatile and talented musicians of his time. 

He started his career with Bengali films in 1937. He later began composing for Hindi movies and became one of the most successful and influential Bollywood film music composers. Burman composed the soundtracks for over 100 movies, including Bengali films and Hindi.

The birth anniversary celebration ceremony was held at Rabindra Bhavan premises under the joint initiative of Society For Management of Cultural Complex and Department of Information & Cultural Affairs.

Chairman of the Society Kamal Dey, officials of the Information Culture Department and others were present.

There, Sachin Devvarman’s contribution and various aspects of his musical life were discussed.
