Tripura: CM Manik Saha to contest from Town Bordowali

On 28 January, BJP announced that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will contest from the 8-Town Bordowali constituency the upcoming state assembly election scheduled to be conducted on February 16.

BJP announced the candidates for 48 seats out of the total 60 seats for the Tripura Polls.
It is informed that candidate names for remaining 12 seats will be announced soon.
BJP further said that Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik will contest from Dhanpur constituency.

Md Moboshar Ali, who left CPIM and joined the party on Friday will contest from Kailashahar assembly constituency.

The state president of BJP Rajib Bhattacharjee will contest from Banamalipur constituency, from where former CM Biplab Kumar Deb contested in 2018 assembly election.

The candidate names for the 2023 Tripura assembly election was finalized and approved in the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting that was held on January 27.

The CEC meeting was chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and many other members were present.
