Tripura CM Manik Saha unveils statue of Maharani Tulsibati at MTB Girls School in Agartala

Maharani Tulsibati’s contribution to the expansion of women’s education in the state is undeniable. Tulsibati Girls School was established through the sole efforts of Maharani, which is an important chapter in women’s education in the state.

In the past, the contribution of Maharani Tulsibati and the contribution of the royal family were not brought to the notice of the people of the state.

This history was neglected. The present government is working earnestly to restore the culture of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while unveiling the full-length statue of Maharani Tulsibati at Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School on Saturday.

He added that the contribution of kings and royal families is significant in the development of Tripura.

In this context, he also mentioned Umakanta School, MBB College, Durgabari, Agartala Airport. Trying to convey history to the younger generation.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always mentioned if women do not progress, our society and country cannot progress.

He added, “The state government is also implementing various schemes for women empowerment and development. The state government has provided 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs.

A system of free education for girls has been introduced in general degree colleges. Police stations run by women and help desks for women have been launched in 7 districts of the state”.
