On August 9th, the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, the Congress party organized diverse events nationwide in honor of this occasion.
Tripura Congress also hosted a series of three-day programs. As a part of this initiative, a discussion session took place at Agartala’s Muktadhara Auditorium on Wednesday.
Tripura Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and various others were present there.
Ashish Kumar Saha said, “The National Congress has launched a nationwide initiative to celebrate tribal heritage. As its part, the Adivasi Mahasabha is organized by Tripura Pradesh Congress to honor representatives from various tribal groups.”
Besides, the Tripura Pradesh Congress also held a rally on Wednesday, urging participation to protest against the distressing events unfolding in Manipur that deeply affect human dignity.
The rally started from the Muktadhara Auditorium premises and traveled through various routes in the city.
MLA Roy Barman and Pradesh Congress leaders participated in the rally.
MLA Sudip Roy Barman claimed that tribal development is not possible without National Congress.
He noted people’s loss of faith in other parties drawing people towards Congress. He highlighted Manipur’s plight, and urged Prime Minister and the government to prioritize restoring peace over electoral campaigns.
