Tripura CPIM organized a demonstration on Monday afternoon at Agartala protesting ‘rigging’ during the election for West Tripura parliamentary constituency and demanded fresh polls in entire Lok Sabha seat for West Tripura.
Addressing the gathering, CPIM candidate for West Tripura Lok Sabha seat MP Sankar Prasad Datta said that after election on April 11, ‘we were demanding for re-polls in 464 polling booths but later based on the reports of other polling stations of the constituency we sought re-polls in 846 polling booths”.
He also added “Later, during our survey in every polling stations of the constituency we found, barring few booths, the ruling BJP and its miscreants have directly killed the democracy of the country and they curtailed the fundamental rights of common voters and about 50 percent of voters were totally unable to cast their votes due to mass rigging and hooliganism of ruling party’.
