Tripura Government honoured five persons for their special contributions in various fields

The government is working hard to strengthen the foundation of education with the aim of ensuring a secure and prosperous future for the students.

This was said by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at the main function of the Teachers’ Day programme held at Rabindra Bhawan on Sunday.

The state-level Teacher’s Day programme was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Sunday.

At the beginning of the programme, the chief guest and other guests paid homage to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Former President of India.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Tripura government honoured five persons for their special contributions in various fields.

Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar award has been given to Baharul Islam Majumder and Pijush Kanti Sarkar.

Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Samman has been conferred upon Dr. Jayanta Ray and Maharani Tulsibati award has been given to Principal of Maharaja Bir Bikram College- Prof Dipannita Chakraborty (Roy Chowdhury).

Shyamaprasad Mukherjee (posthumous) award has been given to late Om Ranjan Gupta. The award has been received by his son Basab Gupta.
