Tripura High Court Stays Police Investigation in Khowai PS Case against 5 TMC leaders

The Chief Justice of the High Court has stayed the investigation into the case of obstructing police officers from performing their duties.

It is alleged that Trinamool Congress leaders led by Abhishek Banerjee entered Khowai police station recently and obstructed the work of the police.

A notice was sent in this regard by filing a case under a specific section. After receiving the notice, the interrogation of Kunal Ghosh started.

The Trinamool Congress had sought a stay on the case. In particular, the Trinamool leaders got some relief from the allegation of obstructing the work of the police by entering the Khowai police station.

The court has stayed the case filed against five Trinamool leaders, including general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, at Khowai police station.

As a result, interrogation cannot be done.

Lawyers Siddhara Lura and Biswajit Deb appeared for the Trinamool Congress.

Meanwhile, Trinamool leader Kunal Ghosh’s physical condition is stable now. However, Trinamool sources said that he may be taken to Kolkata.

Tripura Police has filed an FIR against senior Trinamool Congress MPs Abhishek Banerjee and Dola Sen Bengal, Education minister Bratya Basu, party general secretary Kunal Ghosh, former Tripura minister Prakash Das and former MIA Subal Bhowmik for allegedly obstructing police officers from performing their duties.
