Tripura is working on Jal Jeevan Mission with aim of delivering purified drinking water: Sushanta

A review meeting was held on Sunday at Kanchanpur Revenue Bungalow on the progress of North Tripura District-based Jal Jeevan Mission.

DWS Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by MLA Premkumar Riang, MDC Shailendra Nath, Secretary of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Kiran Gitye.

During the meeting, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inquired about the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission in North Tripura district.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Jal Jeevan Mission in 2019 to deliver pure and purified drinking water to every household in every village of the country.

The state is also working on Jal Jeevan Mission with the aim of delivering purified drinking water to every household by December 2022.
