On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra informed that it has been decided to appoint two tribal women from Tripura to the rank of Ministers of State in the BJP-led State Government.
This decision was taken on Wednesday at the State Guest House in Agartala in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda.
While addressing reporters at the State Guest House after the oath ceremony of the State Cabinet on Wednesday, BJP’s All India Spokesperson Sambit Patra stated that Patal Kanya Jamatia and Jayanti Debbarma will be appointed to the post of Minister of State.
Notably, Jayanti Debbarma is the state leader of IPFT, the alliance partner of BJP. Besides, she is the daughter of former minister and late IPFT leader NC Debbarma. Patal Kanya Jamatia is a BJP state level leader.
Sambit Patra further said that it has decided to give the responsibility of any Board or Corporation to the senior leader of coalition partner IPFT party Jayanti Debbarma and BJP leader Patal Kanya Jamatia.
