Tripura Police arrested a mason for killing five people including a police in Khowai

Last night, 5 innocents lost their lives in the hand of an insane at Khowai’s Laltilla Sheoratali. More two also Seriously injured. The saddest part of the story is the martyrdom of an on-duty responsible police personnel. The second officer of Khowai police station Satyajit Mallik got martyred while performing his duty. He was a resident of Indranagar area in Agartala.

The incident took place at yesterday 11pm. According to local reports, Pradip Debroy a resident of that area carried out a sudden abnormal killing spree on his wife and two children. The children died on spot and the wife left being heavily injured. Later he stepped out of his home and started random attacks on pedestrians and locals. Where he also injured many.

Pradip Debroy(40) @ Kutty S/0 Lt. Ashit Debroy of Uttar Ramchandraghat, Sheoratali suddenly attacked his two minor daughter namely Miss. Mandiraa Debroy(07) and Aditi Debroy(01) and his wife Smt. Mina Debroy(32) with shovel. In this attack, both the minor daughter died on the spot and his wife sustained serious injury on her persons and now under treatment at AGMC & GBP hospital, Agartala. After this, said Pradip Debroy attacked his elder brother Amalesh Debroy (45) and assaulted him with the shovel and also killed him.

On getting this information, Inspr. Satyajit Mallik of Khowai PS along with staff arrived at the spot and they were also attacked by Pradip Debroy. In this attack inspr Satyajit Mallik sustained grievous injuries on his head and he was immediately shifted to Khowai Hospital. Subsequently, he was referred to AGMC & GBP hospital Agartala at night and during treatment he succumbed to his injuries. Then Pradip Debroy attacked one Krishna Das(45), S/0 Rakesh Das of Nabodaya area and his son Karnadhir Das(22) who were passing by the road in an auto-rickshaw.

In this attack both of them sustained grievous injuries on their persons and were shifted to Khowai Hospital where said Krishna Das succumbed to his injuries and his son Karnadhir Das is now under treatment at AGMC & GBP hospital.

Later on, additional force was sent to the spot and they managed to detain the aggressive Pradip Debroy and taken him under police custody. In this connection a specific case has been registered at Khowai PS vide Khowai PS Case No. 108/2021 U/S 302/307/326/333/353/427 IPC, Dt. 27/11/2021. The case is under investigation.

The entire incident has shocked the state completely on Saturday morning. A strong sense of emotion has started erupting from the civic minds across the state. The police is further investigating the incident and the area is booked totally under heavy force deployment.
