Tripura: Polling for by-election to lone Rajya Sabha seat started

Polling for the by-election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the state started.

The voting started from 9 am and will continue till 4 PM. The result will be announced today evening .

BJP candidate and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and CPI(M) leader Bhanu Lal Saha are in the fray for the lone seat.

The seat fell vacant after Dr. Manik Saha resigned from Rajya Sabha membership to take charge as Chief Minister of Tripura.

A total of 59 MLAs in the 60-member state assembly are likely to cast their vote as one of the members remains disqualified.
